Glassport Crime Watch Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Glassport Senior Citizens Center, 544 Monongahela Avenue, Glassport. Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County concerning the Allegheny County Vacant Property Recovery Program Pricing Update. According to these new guidelines, the RAA will now partially underwrite the acquisition costs of side yards and blighted structure remediation in Glassport on an ongoing basis, subject to funding availability. Open House at Sewage Plant. The public is invited to an open house to see the facilities of the sewage department October 4, 2014. Residents are also welcome to tour and see the improvements made to the sewage department. Councilman Bradley and a sewage department representatvie will be available for any questions.
ALCOSAN will be sponsoring an Open House on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ALCOSAN is located at 3300 Preble Avenue on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Enjoy a fun filled day of hands on environmental exhibits, waste-water treatment plant and laboratory tours, microbiology and watershed life demonstrations, and educational activities for all ages.
Congratulations to 1100 block of Indiana Ave. for winning the Blue Light Contest. Residents will have their block party Saturday, September 20, 2014 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Support for Cindy McGraw Davies – Journey to Health. Cindy has a collapsed lung and small cell lung cancer. This cancer is aggressive and fast growing, but responds well to chemotherapy with a 90% success rate. Cindy has insurance but her insurance will only cover 40% of her treatment costs with 60% being out of pocket. Due to the loss of wages a spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Liberty Boro Fire Hall from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. All proceeds will go towards her medical expenses.
Hall Rentals: Hall Rentals for the Glassport Community Youth Center are 15$ an hour, 75$ for the bottom hall or $150 for the gym with the basketball court. Please contact the borough at 412-672-7400.

The Tax Office is open Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm during the months of May - September for discount real estate collections. Tuesday's and Thursday's 9am - 2pm during the months of October - April. Closed Friday's and Holiday's. Payments can be made by check or money order. No cash payments will be accepted. There is a $35.00 charge for checks returned NSF. An after hour payment slot is located on 5th street side of Borough building. If receipt is required please provide a self addressed stamped envelope.
Building Inspector: To obtain a Building Permit or if you have any building or property concerns, please visit or call the Borough Building Tuesday-Thursday 12 pm- 4pm . Building Permit Applications must be picked up at Borough Building.
