The next Planning Commission Meeting with Strategic Solutions will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the Zoning and SALDO Ordinances.
NEW SENIOR LIVING: Glassport has been working with a proposed developer along with the South Allegheny School District to construct a senior residency from the old elementary school ( closed 13 years ago) on Ohio Avenue between Second and Third Street.
It will house 55 garden apartment units of 1 or 2 bedrooms. Each unit will have a living and dining room combination area, kitchen area, bathroom area, and other amenities. You can register to sign-up at the Glassport Boro if you are interested in consideration.
They are reaching out to you to see if single persons, husband and wives, etc., 62 years of age and older are interested in being part of the development of this site and would consider moving into these apartments if the eligibility requirements are met. The proposed developers have created similar senior living in White Oak, Munhall, Mt. Washington and Duquesne. You can see these developments on the following link: www.cmshousing.com

There will be side yard to owner, (50% of the appraised value, good faith deposit of $162 and closing costs), demolition of blighted structure with a common boundary, (100% of the appraised value, Parcel fee of $3,000 will be waived, good faith deposit of $162, closing cost of $500), rehabilitation of blighted structure to be rehabbed by the applicant, (100% appraised value, Parcel fee will be discounted to $1,400, Good faith deposit of $162 vacant lot), vacant lot, (100% of the appraised value, parcel fee of $3,000, good faith deposit of $162 and closing costs of approx.. $500). The Tax Office is open Monday - Thursday 9am - 2pm during the months of May-September for discount real estate collections. Tuesday's and Thursday's 9am-2pm during the months of October-April. Closed Friday's and Holiday's. Payments can be made by check or money order. No cash payments will be accepted. An after-hours payment slot is located next to the tax window inside the Borough building and an outside slot is located on the 5th street side of the Borough Office building. If a receipt is required please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope. There is a $35.00 charge for checks returned NSF.
Building Inspector: To obtain a Building Permit or if you have any building or property concerns, please visit or call the Borough Building Tuesday-Thursday 12 pm- 4pm . Building Permit Applications must be picked up at Borough Building.
